AI scan from photo & PDF Premium
Snap a cookbook page or drop in a PDF and AI reads the title, ingredients, steps, timings and servings into a clean recipe — ready to edit.
Snap a page from grandma's cookbook, drop in a PDF, or paste a link — Yumly AI reads the recipe, files the ingredients, times the steps, and saves it to your private cookbook — kept on your device. In 25 languages. No accounts.
Yumly AI is a recipe app that respects how you actually cook. You hoard recipes from screenshots, PDFs, half-loaded sites, and printouts; it parses them with AI, keeps them on-device, and hands them back the moment you walk into the kitchen — searchable, scalable, in your language.
Yumly AI doesn't stop at reading recipes. It scans your photos and PDFs, plans your meals around your diet and allergies, and scales every recipe to the table you're actually feeding.
Snap a cookbook page or drop in a PDF and AI reads the title, ingredients, steps, timings and servings into a clean recipe — ready to edit.
Ask Yumly AI to plan today's full menu, or just a breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert. Fresh ideas in seconds, built from how you actually eat.
Low-carb, keto, vegan, vegetarian, halal — set your preferences once and every AI suggestion respects them, so you only see meals you'd actually make.
Flag the ingredients you can't have and AI keeps them out of every suggestion. Peace of mind for nut, gluten, dairy and shellfish allergies and beyond.
Cooking for two or twenty? Tap the servings and every ingredient quantity recalculates instantly — no mental math, no doubling mistakes.
Paste any recipe link and AI pulls out the real recipe — past the life stories. No image? It finds a licensed cover photo and credits the photographer.
Tell Yumly AI what you're in the mood for — a quick breakfast, tonight's dinner, a dessert, or a whole day's menu — and it writes a complete recipe in seconds, built around the way you actually eat.
Scan, paste, or generate a recipe in any language — Yumly AI returns it fully translated into the language you've chosen. Title, ingredients, steps and tags, all in your words. No copy-pasting into a translator.
A photo of a cookbook page, a PDF from your aunt, a long-loading food blog, a sticky napkin — Yumly AI captures them all, then organizes the mess into something searchable and beautiful.
Point the camera at a cookbook page or import a PDF. AI extracts the title, ingredients, steps, timings and servings into a clean recipe — ready to edit.
Paste any recipe URL and Yumly AI parses the page — title, image, ingredients and steps, even on sites that bury the actual recipe under five paragraphs of life advice.
Imported a recipe with no image? Yumly AI finds a beautiful, properly licensed food photo and credits the photographer automatically.
Out of ideas? Yumly AI plans a whole day's menu or a single meal — breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert — tuned to your diet (low-carb, keto, vegan, halal…) and steering clear of the ingredients you're allergic to.
From Czech to Korean. Every menu, every label, every help article translated by humans, not auto-translated and abandoned. Switch instantly.
Your recipe library lives in a database on your device — browse, search, edit and cook with no connection. No sign-in, no analytics, no ads, no tracking. A connection is used only for the AI features you choose to run.
One tap on a recipe drops all its ingredients — or just the ones you pick — into a dedicated Shopping tab. Every item remembers which recipe it came from, you check things off as you shop, add your own items, and share the whole list as text.
Tap Start Cooking and the recipe takes over the screen: swipeable full-screen steps, a countdown timer on every timed step, scaled ingredients at hand — and the display stays awake until you're done.
Face ID / Touch ID / PIN lock the app on backgrounding. Auto-backup bundles every recipe, image, label, and setting into a backup archive in your own private iCloud Drive. One tap to restore.
Hand a recipe to a friend across the table over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth via Multipeer — no internet needed. Or export as plain text, .mcb file, or full archive with images.
Sixteen built-in categories, custom labels, diet and allergy tags, nutrition values, instant full-text search across titles, ingredients and steps, servings scaler. The cookbook discipline you've never had.
Hitting a protein goal, watching carbs, keeping it under a calorie ceiling? Open Filter Recipes and set limits on the nutrients that matter — Yumly AI narrows your whole cookbook down to the dishes that fit, all per serving.
Find it on the Recipes tab under Filter Recipes → Nutrition (per serving).
Three steps from a printed page to a recipe you can actually use tonight.
Photograph a cookbook page, import a PDF, paste a URL, or generate from your preferred meals. The AI does the parsing.
Every recipe lands in a category, gets a cover photo, picks up diet and allergy tags, and becomes instantly searchable across title, ingredients, and steps.
Send the ingredients to the shopping list, scale to the servings you actually need, then let Cooking Mode walk you through full-screen steps with timers — on a screen that never locks mid-recipe.
Yumly AI doesn't stop when the recipe is saved. It writes your shopping list and then walks you through the cooking, step by step — both free, both fully offline.
A dedicated Shopping tab that fills itself. On any recipe, one tap adds every ingredient to the list — or just the ones you're missing — and off you go.
Tap Start Cooking and the recipe takes over the screen — full-screen steps you swipe through with the back of a finger, built for a counter covered in flour.

Yumly AI helps you collect, organize, and share recipes — your library stays on your device, in 25 languages.
Key features:
Tap any topic in the Help Center to learn more.
Yumly AI can import recipes automatically using AI. AI import is a Premium feature.
Premium AI import methods:
Adding recipes manually is always free — tap Add Manually to create a recipe yourself.
The AI reads the source, identifies the title, ingredients, steps, timings, and servings, then creates a new recipe ready to edit. Your Preferred Meals (in Settings) bias how recipes are interpreted. Daily limits apply to keep the service fair.
URL import is a Premium feature. Paste any recipe website URL and Yumly AI will fetch and parse the page automatically.
Most popular cooking sites are supported. The importer reads structured recipe data and creates a new recipe with the title, ingredients, steps, and image. The Preferred Meals row at the top of the screen shows which meal styles the AI will favor when interpreting the recipe — tap it to change them without leaving the import flow.
If a site doesn't import cleanly, you can always edit the recipe afterward. Camera, photo, and PDF scanning are also Premium AI import methods — use whichever source is most convenient.
Premium users can back up the entire cookbook to iCloud Drive.
What's included: all recipes, ingredients, steps, media, tags, labels, and settings — stored as a ZIP archive in your private iCloud space.
Auto Backup: enable to back up automatically after recipe or settings changes. Manual backups are available anytime from Settings → Backup & Restore.
Wi-Fi only: when auto-backup is on for iCloud, a Wi-Fi only toggle appears. Enabled by default to avoid using cellular data for uploads.
Restoring replaces the current cookbook entirely. Make sure to back up before restoring.
Premium users can protect the app with biometrics or a 4-digit PIN.
Options:
The app locks automatically when you put it in the background. Disabling App Lock removes all stored authentication state.
Two ways to share recipes with other people.

You sign in directly with the store, so Yumly AI never sees your password. Your store login is kept only on your device, and you can disconnect any store anytime from Settings → Grocery Connections.

Ten quick answers. The in-app Help Center has the full set in your language.
AI recipe scanning is a Premium feature. Scanning with the camera, importing photos from your library, importing a PDF, and URL import all use AI and are part of Premium — along with auto cover photo lookup, AI meal suggestions, iCloud backup, App Lock and recipe sharing. The app is free to download, and the shopping list, Cooking Mode, manual recipe entry, search and organization are all free. Daily fair-use limits apply to AI features to keep the service sustainable.
No account is required and your cookbook lives on your device — recipes, photos, categories and settings stay in a local database, with no analytics, no ads and no tracking. When you choose an AI feature, that single request is processed over a secure connection just to read the recipe; your content is never stored on our side and never used to train AI models.
Premium iCloud backups are stored in your own private iCloud Drive — we have no access.
Your recipe library lives on your device, so browsing, searching, filtering, scaling servings, editing and exporting all work without a connection. The AI features — photo and PDF scan, URL import, meal suggestions and cover photo search — use a secure connection when you choose to use them.
Yes — the shopping list and Cooking Mode are both part of the free tier. One tap adds a recipe's ingredients to the list (or just the ones you pick), every item remembers which recipe it came from, you check things off as you shop, add your own items, and share the list as plain text. Like the rest of your cookbook, it works completely offline.
Yes — grocery store integration is a free feature, currently in beta. From the Shopping tab you tap the cart button, and for each ingredient you pick the matching product from the store's search, set the quantity and confirm — nothing is added without your confirmation. You sign in to your own store account in a secure browser window, so the app never sees your password, and you finish checkout on the store's own site or app, where prices, availability and payment stay. Stores available now are Rohlik.cz (Czechia), Knuspr.de (Germany), Gurkerl.at (Austria), Kifli.hu (Hungary) and Sezamo.ro (Romania), with more added over time. Your store login is stored only on your device and you can disconnect anytime in Settings → Grocery Connections.
Premium Monthly is €3.99 per month. Premium Yearly is €29.99 per year, which is roughly 37% cheaper than paying monthly. Billing is handled entirely by Apple. You can switch between plans or cancel anytime from iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, or from the in-app Manage Subscription button.
The app interface is available in 25 languages, including English, Czech, Slovak, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Hungarian, Dutch, Swedish, Finnish, Icelandic, Russian, Arabic, Hindi, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Turkish, Greek, Thai, Vietnamese and Indonesian. The website is available in all 25 languages as well.
Yes. Yumly AI uses Apple's Multipeer Connectivity to transfer recipes directly between nearby iPhones and iPads over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, no internet required. You can also export a recipe as plain text, a .mcb Yumly file, or a full archive with all images included.
Premium stays active until the end of the period you already paid for. After that the app reverts to the free tier — every recipe, every photo, every setting stays exactly as it was, only the PRO-only features (AI recipe scanning from camera, photos and PDF, URL import, AI meal suggestions, iCloud backup, App Lock, sharing) are locked again until you resubscribe.
All purchases are handled by Apple. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the Yumly AI purchase, and follow the steps. We have no visibility into App Store purchases and cannot issue refunds ourselves.
